How to submit logs in the August UHF Contest

Log submission procedures in the 2016 August UHF Contest are exactly the same as they were in previous years, except that you don't send logs to the ARRL. E-mail your cabrillo log to AugustUHF@kkn.net, and, though we would LOVE to see 100% electronic logs (and AT LEAST 250 of them), we know that there are folks who prefer to (or have to) log on paper and we WILL accept those as well,  See below for where to mail paper logs.

Send an email to AugustUHF@kkn.net with only your call sign in the subject line.  Submit your log as an email attachment, using only YOURCALL.LOG as the file name.  Do not include anything in the body of the message. Again, this is exactly the same format as always.

You will receive a reply from a robot remarkably similar to what you might receive from the ARRL robot.  It will tell you if your log is okay or if you need to make changes.  You can resubmit as many times as you like before the deadline, which is 1800z on September 6, 2016.  The last log you submit is the only one that counts.

We are very fortunate that John Kalenowsky, K9JK, who has been writing the UHF Contest results articles in recent years, has offered to handle all of the administrative details of the 39th annual August UHF Contest as the volunteer UHF Contest Manager.  If you have a problem with the robot, email "JK" at uhfcontesthelp@gmail.com.  If you need to submit a paper log, send it to John Kalenowsky, K9JK, 58 N. Oak St., Palatine, IL 60067.  Be sure to include a summary sheet like the one here.  JK will type your log into a cabrillo file and submit it along with all of the others.  Please be considerate and send a cabrillo log if yours is a large log.

Yes, JK says he knows what he's getting into.  He's doing everything that he always did as a volunteer author for QST as well as everything the paid ARRL Contest Branch Manager does to help people with their logs and with the robot.

The full rules, which are substantially unchanged from the 2015 rules, are here

Another good way to submit a log in the August UHF Contest is to use the web applet offered by Bruce Horn, WA7BNM.  It allows you to enter all of your data online, review it online, then tell the applet to submit your log.  To use this interactive tool, go to:

http://www.b4h.net/cabforms/uhfaug_cab3.php

This form is currently in test mode (everything works, but doesn't submit logs to the contest sponsor at the end of the process) until the start of the contest.  For Bruce's home page, go to www.hornucopia.com.
